I like physical media, and have long been a fan of charity shops and Discogs, but for the last decade or so the majority of my music has come from Bandcamp. I like this platform because they sell DRM-free files, pay artists a fair share, and allow you to re-download your library unlimited times.
Here are a few albums that have been on heavy rotation recently:
Ambient
- Place of Rest by Early Fern
- Petrichor by Max Loderbauer
- Liquid Colours by CFCF. Currently obsessed with this. Difficult to describe, it's a blend of lounge/elevator/hold music and classic Jungle, with random sprinkles of Japanese Pop or Bossa Nova. Sounds like a 90s Playstation racing game soundtrack. Big fan.
- Jazzbois Goes Blunt by Jazzbois (I feel like this fits more neatly under Hip-Hop than Jazz)
- Infra by Patrick Holland
- La Saboteuse by Yazz Ahmed
- Afterglow by Resolution 88. Modern day Head Hunters was the best way I've seen it described.
- Malm by Acronym
- Irrbloss by Dorisburg
